    Senior Buyer - Retail

Job Description:
  • Working with various Category and Procurement Managers, Senior Procurement Manager and Business ‘s to identify optimal procurement strategies
  • Utilising the Category Management and C+P Procedures/Processes (CMCP).
  • Responsibility for leading the implementation of the strategies while negotiating contracts to meet local challenges eg. Supplier Development etc.
  • Responsibility for working with the Business to deliver robust contract management
  • Deliver the anticipated benefits – focusing on reducing costs to the Business and eliminating waste.
  • Manage portfolio of Operational Contracts (aggregated contract risk low and med) and tactical contracts in line with contract segmentation guidelines and principles. Majority of contracts in the portfolio are standalones.
  • Manage spend estimated between 50-250M US$ total Actual Contract Value (ACV) (excluding call-offs and admin contracts). Exceptions are specific categories where spend is low.
  • Manage more complex categories/Classes of Business Strategy/ Contract Award Approval Limit (ACV in USD): 1MLNCB proposal endorsement (ACV in USD: 3MLN).
  • Balance meeting business demand whilst developing new suppliers for identified categories of spend.
  • Working across organisational boundaries to deliver results for identified categories.
Requirements:
  • English (C1/C2) and Dutch or French (C1)
  • Professional procurement background with preferably 5 years commercial experience.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the Group CMCP process and commercial contract management technique.
  • Awareness of respective Business environment and how operations effect the Business bottom line#Good commercial and negotation experience in Category Management, Procurement Delivery/Operations.
  • Engage and manage business relationships, good customer focus.
  • Ability to work with the SAP system SERP #Be results oriented.
  • Well organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good inter-personal skills.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing in an effective manner.
  • Experience with Supplier Development
  • Strong Project Management and Stakeholder Skills
  • Change Management
  • Basic Legal Interpretation of Supplier Contracts
  • Knowledge of Contract and Category Management, C&P Procedures/Processes
  • CIPS or relevant Procurement Qualification
  • Knowledge of Retail Business
